About us
We are Sandro and Roman, the creators of SandRhoman History, a history YouTube channel founded in 2018. Our goal is to make history engaging, visually compelling, and firmly grounded in scholarship—bringing the past to life in a way that is both accessible and accurate.

We make our research transparent by listing sources in every video.
We clearly indicate when we depart from these standards.
Between us, we hold two Master's degrees in history from the University of Bern, as well as a degree in history education from the Bern University of Teacher Education.
Alongside our work on YouTube, we engage with academic discussions on digital history. Our experience as content creators has been featured in a publication edited by Kilian Baur and Robert Trautmannsberger, published by De Gruyter.
We have also taught a seminar on history on YouTube at the University of Zurich and have given guest lectures at several universities.

Who is behind SandRhoman History?
SandRhoman History is made by Sandro and Roman, two historians from Switzerland. Between them they hold two Master's degrees in history from the University of Bern and a degree in history education from the Bern University of Teacher Education. They started the channel in 2018.
How do you research your videos?
We rely on academic sources and aim to reflect the scholarly consensus. Every video lists the sources we used, and we say clearly when we depart from these standards.
What topics does the channel cover?
Military history above all: siege warfare, medieval battles and early modern warfare, from the ancient world to the 19th century. The video library sorts every video by era.
Is there a German version of the channel?
Yes. SandRhoman Geschichte is our German-language channel and covers the same historical topics for German-speaking viewers.
Do you work with universities and historians?
Yes. We taught a seminar on history on YouTube at the University of Zurich in spring 2024, gave guest lectures at the universities of Eichstätt, Fribourg and Zurich, and wrote about our work as content creators in a volume edited by Kilian Baur and Robert Trautmannsberger, published by De Gruyter. Some videos are made together with historians and institutions, such as Prof. Morillo and the Baden State Museum.
